PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Advancing Girls Education & Skills (AGES’) project operates in several provinces in Pakistan. This four-year program seeks to improve access to formal and informal education, engage communities to support expanded educational and employment opportunities, and collaborate with the Pakistani government to strengthen policies which support girls and young women.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for facilitating AGES’ work in coordination with the relevant stakeholders for implementation of AGES’ activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and newly merged tribal areas. The Consultant will support the AGES’ Provincial Team Lead-KP in planning, implementation and monitoring of AGES’ in KP including:
- Coordinating with the AGES’ Provincial Team Lead-KP to represent World Learning/AGES in meetings and follow-ups with relevant KP education and vocational training departments/directorates including district-level and higher education officers and other education stakeholders/partners of the Government of KP.
- Supporting government stakeholders and the AGES’ team in planning and implementation of AGES’ interventions in KP
- Supporting the planning and ensuring the successful execution of events, workshops and meetings relevant to AGES’ KP work plan activities
- Assisting the AGES’ provincial and Islamabad teams in preparing, monitoring and updating field plans
- Supporting the AGES’ provincial and Islamabad teams in field data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting
· Preparing a TVET and education scholarship award guidelines, including the list of institutions and scholarship criteria and possible external partners for leverage/support
Required Qualification and Experience
· Graduate degree in social science or relevant disciplines
· Demonstrated experience of designing scholarship disbursement guild lines for the project
· Demonstrated experience to work with government or other stake holders
· Strong background knowledge of working in Education Sector Particularly with KP Education department
· Moderate level report writing skills in English and Urdu
Deliverables
The consultant’s primary role is to facilitate the AGES’ project in preparing, monitoring and updating its implementation plans for education and TVET activities, after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Government of KP and the AGES’ donor/implementing partners. The consultant will therefore submit plans, documents, meeting minutes, and workshop reports are detailed in their final work plan/contract. In addition, the consultant will be responsible for submitting a scholarship guide created in consultation with the relevant stakeholders and the AGES’ team.
Duration of assignment
The assignment will be for a total of 100 days over five months.
Other
AGES will reimburse travel and accommodation for the consultant if travel is required outside Peshawar and Islamabad city.
