Job Description:

IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages and delivers large, complex programs to meet the needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor and disaster affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.


 


Job Overview/Summary: Provide assistance and support in the rollout and use of IRC’s Program Framework, Theories of Change and Strategic Action Implementation Plan and Exemplar work plan. The Program Intern’s primary responsibility will be to provide high quality, core administrative support.


Major Responsibilities:


1.       Strategic Planning & Implementation


·         In coordination with the Program team, pro-actively assist in design and implement fundraising strategies, incorporating donor mapping and communication plans.


·         Provide support to monitor and review programming to ensure that schedules are met


2.       Program Development


·         Support team in achievement of IRC Pakistan’s SAP outcome priorities and programmatic commitments.


·         Support Deputy Director Programs in the development of a Partnership Strategy, development of required strategy implementation tools and identification and usage of tool accordingly where needed.


·         Ensure the provision of appropriate technical assistance from IRC’s Technical Units, external consultants or partner agencies as necessary.


3.       Liaison/Representation and Coordination


·         Encourage and support improved program cohesion through coordination initiatives and information sharing with and between all key country program staff.


·         Promote the IRC Pakistan vision and mission amongst all staff.


 


4.    Program Support


·         Participate in various meetings, including program coordination meeting and program review meeting on weekly/monthly basis.


·         Take/Compile minutes of meetings and action points, report writing in coordination with program teams


·         Weekly/Monthly presentations on BvA, PRM & PCM meetings


·         Assistance in IRC Exemplar & IRC Strategic plan implementation


5.    Admin Support


·         Close coordination with Deputy Director Programs for routine admin related tasks including but not limited to


o   Preparation of Travel Itineraries – Domestic/International


o   Maintenance of record of monthly timesheets


o   Preparation & record of per diem/expense report


o   Preparation of various organizational memos


o   Follow up and preparation of field visits report


o   Coordination with various embassies and UN organizations as needed


o   Design visit itineraries of National/International IRC staff


Key Working Relationships:

Job Requirements:


a)      Education:


 Master’s degree in International Development, International Relations, relevant social sciences or equivalent demonstrable experience in relevant fields.


b)      Work Experience:


·         One Year


c)       Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:


·         Effective communication and presentation skills.


·         Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize and meet deadlines in a complex and challenging environment; must be culturally sensitive


·         Computer skills including MS- Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook


·         Remain flexible and perform other duties, as needed or requested


Language Skills – English, Urdu


Others:  


Strong computer skills: must be competent in the use of Windows, MS office programs, email programs, etc.
