MISSION AND PRINCIPAL ACTIVIES
Attendance and involvement at work:
· Observe the MSF charter.
· Perform all activity in line with the MSF protocols and procedures.

· Respect the patient privacy and strictly respect community culture, norms.

· Adhere to MSF Clinical Guidelines and protocols.
MAIN RESPONSIBITITIES
1. Hospital admission
· Carrying out patients’ admissions according the MSF acceptance criteria and re-orientating the patients out of criteria.
· Working in close collaboration with other departments, ensuring the transfer of the patient to department.
· Respecting MSF Guidelines and Protocols for prescription of investigations and treatment if required.
· Filling clearly diagnosis and treatment on documents.
2. General care in NBU
· Examining all patients in NBU
· Prescribing the care and treatments required accordingly to MSF guidelines and clinical protocols and ensuring the correct application of prescriptions.
· Ensuring the rational use of medicines.
· Keeping the hospitalization forms up to date by noting the details of examinations, entry and exit diagnosis and following the specialist consultations.
· Preparing all documentation for discharge and referral.
· Ensuring the proper handover to incoming colleagues about all the patients.
· Informing the direct supervisor in event of medical error.
3. Newborn Care
· Completes newborn assessment on each baby delivered in Women Hospital prior to discharge
· Carries out the daily round in the Newborn Unit in collaboration with the pediatrician in charge
· Recognizes abnormalities and/or deteriorating condition and notifies pediatrician in charge of newborn care
· Attends and participates in newborn resuscitation
· Admits babies to NBU according to MSF criteria and protocol
· Manages care plan and prescriptions according to protocol
· Able to identify newborns requiring referral according to MSF referral criteria and participates in facilitating the referral
· Informs mothers and fathers about the illness of her baby, and explains the treatment required
· Perform well-baby check on healthy babies
· Attend the delivery room or OT in difficult deliveries to be ready to offer neonatal care
4. Other
· Participating in on-going personnel training (care techniques, updating protocols, etc.)
· Participating to the weekly training session proposing and presenting topics.
· Participating in medical meetings, monthly and when necessary.
· Participating in the medical data collection
