Introduction 

Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) is the lead apex institution for community-driven development in the country.  Set up by the Government of Pakistan as an autonomous not-for-profit organization, PPAF enjoys facilitation and support from the Government of Pakistan, The World Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), KfW Entwicklungsbank (Development Bank of Germany) and other statutory and corporate donors.  PPAF aims to be the catalyst for improving the quality of life, broadening the range of opportunities and socio-economic mainstreaming of the poor and disadvantaged, especially women, minority, and marginalized groups. The core operating units of the PPAF deliver a range of development interventions at the grassroots/community level through a network of more than 100 Partner Organizations across the country.  These include social mobilization, support for livelihood, enterprise and employment, access to credit, infrastructure and energy, health, education and disaster management. Externally commissioned independent studies have demonstrated positive outcomes and impact of PPAF interventions on the lives of benefiting communities related to their economic output, household incomes, assets, agricultural productivity skills and other quality of life indices. 

Background

With the change in activities and expansion of work, PPAF wants to extend its new look to the website.  A timely update and fresh contents, enhanced features and added functionalities is critical for our outreach and interaction.   

Objectives

PPAF needs the services of a web content writer for researching, writing, organizing, and editing information for PPAF’s website.

 

Scope of Work

Under the guidance of the GH CQA – PPAF, the consultant will be undertaking the following tasks: 

1. Gather information from various units of PPAF on our work, approach, processes, and products. 

2. Research on the type of audience for the website and type of information required. 

3. Incorporate social media; encourage a dialogue and build a community of PPAF audience with interaction-comments, tweets, and email feedback.

4. Make content easily indexed by search engines; ensure search engine optimization.

5. Bake internal links into the content, hyperlink to sources.

6. Prepare three e-newsletters

7. Give periodic QA reports till the website goes online

8. Develop site map of the website

9. Proof read text and ratify how it will appear on the website

10. Insert required content under the pre-existing web structure

 

Deliverables

1. Entire website content

2. Three e-newsletters

3. Training of Communication and Media team for uploading content, updates, pictures and newsletter onto the website and general website management 

4. Prepare a website management and updating guide/manual for PPAF media team

 

PPAF’s Responsibility/Inputs

• Facilitate meetings of the consultant with units to collect information

• Communication and Media Unit will provide photos

• PPAF will make available the existing content material

 

Consultant’s Profile

• Should have passion for writing

• Minimum 16 years of education in Social Sciences/English/Journalism from HEC recognized university 

• Minimum five years of writing experience of website contents, email newsletters, blogs, 

• Understanding and experience of development sector

• Experience of working with corporate sector

• Ability to produce content for website in a way to make readers choose to read our content-keeping in view the short attention span of the readers.  

• Ability to incorporate social media into content mix 

• Skills, knowledge and experience in content management and web-based technology will be a plus
