Job Description:

Job Overview/Summary:  This is a regular field based position in Nowshera. The Clinical Psychologist, under the supervision of COMPASS Manager Women Protection and Empowerment will be primarily responsible to assess, diagnose, and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in GBV survivors. Clinical psychologist will help GBV survivors to deal effectively with their problems ranging from short-term personal issues to severe chronic conditions.

Major Responsibilities:

Clinical Psychologist will have the following specific responsibilities:

  • Identify and diagnose psychological, emotional or behavioral issues of GBV survivors.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes such as duration of therapy for GBV survivors.
  • Design group counseling sessions with GBV Survivors within Women Community Center.
  • Help Survivors define goals and plan action to achieve personal and social development and adjustment.
  • Provide GBV survivors with decision making support and facilitate them in enhancing self-determination.
  • Assuring appropriate reporting of vulnerability or suspected abuse as mandated by law with the consent of the GBV survivor.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining case files and ensuring all required documents in individual case files is completed in a timely manner and according to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Attend fortnightly staff meetings with Case managers and supervisor to discuss planning and progress of the cases.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic process, the accuracy and completeness of diagnoses, then modify plans and diagnoses as necessary.

·         Any other tasks given by the supervisor.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Sensitive to women’s issues in context of Gender Based Violence.

·         Team building skills 

·         Experience with developing intake assessment and counseling tools.

·         Ability to use good judgment when making decisions and to take accountability for decisions made

·         Emotional maturity and stability to resolve conflicts in non-violent way and maintain appropriate boundaries.

·         Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, ethnicity, and age sensitivity and adaptability

·         Language Skills:  Fluent in Pashtu, Urdu, English
