Job Description: |
Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research is recruiting an assistant editor based in Islamabad to join our team. The applicant must have prior relevant work experience commissioning and editing write-ups on global politics and other social science themes. We believe in devising a factually grounded and analytically incisive narrative of Pakistan for internal and external consumption. The job will entail dedication and professional diligence.
Responsibilities
- Commission writings by engaging with the potential analysts;
- Editing of the publications of CSCR and its sub projects;
- Liaison with the team dealing with the website management;
- Maintaining and developing the institution thematically organised digital archive;
- Producing daily, weekly, or fortnightly briefs, and other research assistance as needed;
- Provision of assistance to the Managing Editor, as and when required.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with web journalism, including commissioning, and editing analytical pieces;
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or related areas of study: Journalism, English or Communications;
- Fluency in English and strong editorial and grammar skills for both expert and popular audiences.
